Box Score 2 GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University softball team won two games, 7-0 and 2-1 over Rutgers-Camden on Tuesday.

Shilah Snead (sr. Malaga, NJ/Delsea Reg.), pitcher
Beth Ann Hyland (sr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) and pitcher
Allison Nolan (sr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) were honored after the doubleheader. It was the last two home games of the regular season for the five seniors.
Rowan has a 27-7 record with a 10-2 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rutgers-Camden is 14-14 overall and 5-7 in the conference.
Hyland was the winning pitcher in the first contest. It was her 50
th career victory. She only gave up three hits in four innings. Hyland struck out five batters. Brittany Scott (sr. Buena, NJ/Buena Reg.) had the loss.
Center fielder
Gianna Genello (fr. West Caldwell, NJ/James Caldwell) contributed with one hit, two RBIs and one run. Sims was two for three with one run. DeYoung and Snead each had one RBI. Snead scored one run while DeYoung chipped in with a hit. Second baseman
Carly Anderson (fr. Nutley, NJ/Nutley) added one hit and two runs.
The Profs were ahead 5-0 after the second inning. Anderson scored on a fielder's choice with Genello at bat. With the bases loaded, Snead was hit by a pitch and third baseman
Nicole Paiotti (so. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) came home. Sims and Genello both crossed the plate on an error. DeYoung drove in Snead with a single. Rowan added two runs in the third. Anderson scored when first baseman
Damariz Mercado (jr. Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) stole second. Mercado came home on Genello's base hit.
DeYoung recorded a home run in the bottom of the seventh inning for the victory in the second game. It was her 10
th homer on the season. In the third, she blasted a solo shot to right field, which tied the score at one. The Scarlet Raptors' run came in the first inning. Pitcher/first baseman Abby Merryman (jr. Washington Twp., NJ/Gloucester Catholic) got on base with a walk. She later scored on an error.
Hyland pitched a complete game for her second win on the day. She (16-3) allowed just two hits and had five strikeouts. Scott took the loss on the mound.
Snead registered two hits in four at bats. Center fielder
Sammy Vradenburg (jr. Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge), Anderson and Paiotti all produced one hit.
Next, Rowan travels to conference opponent New Jersey City University on Saturday, April 23 for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
