Box Score 2 KISSIMMEE, FL – The Rowan University softball team had two wins at the Rebel Spring Games on Tuesday. The Profs defeated SUNY Cortland, 8-4 and Washington College (MD), 7-0.
Right-hander
Beth Ann Hyland (sr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) went the distance on the mound for the victory over Cortland. She (4-2) scattered seven hits and gave up four runs, three earned. Pitcher Alexandrea Flint took the loss. She (2-1) threw five innings and allowed nine hits and five earned runs.
Right fielder
Morgan Smith (so. Millsboro, DE/Sussex Central) was two for three with two home runs. Third baseman
Nicole Paiotti (so. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) contributed with two hits (three at bats) and a homer. Shortstop
Shilah Snead (sr. Malaga, NJ/Delsea Reg.) had two hits, one home run and two runs. Catcher
Alyssa Sims (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) chipped in with two hits, one RBI and one run.
For the Red Dragons, center fielder Jamie Bucci was two for four with one RBI and one run. Designated player Andrea Schoonmaker recorded a home run. Second baseman Rosie Phillips was two for three with one RBI.
The Profs had a 3-0 lead after the first inning. Snead led off with a home run to center field. With two outs, Paiotti and Smith smashed back-to-back homers. Cortland got on the scoreboard with two runs in the third. Rowan added five runs in the sixth inning for an 8-2 advantage. Smith blasted her second home run to left center field. Against Washington, rookie
MacKenzie Juodaitis (fr. Cheshire, CT/Cheshire) had the win on the mound. She (2-2) did not allow a hit in two relief innings. Taylor Harcum (2-5) was the losing pitcher.

The Profs were ahead 3-0 after two runs in the first inning and one in the second. Baldassari knocked in Snead with a double to left field. Smith had a sac fly, scoring Baldassari. In the second, Anderson came home on an error. Rowan added four runs in the fourth inning. Pinch runner
