Box Score NEWARK, NJ – The Rutgers-Newark men's basketball team won 69-63 over Rowan University on Saturday night.
Forward Jordan McDaniel (sr. Colonia, NJ/Colonia) scored a game-high 23 points. Forward David Azoroh (sr. Ewing, NJ/Ewing) recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard John Snow (sr. Newark, NJ/Montclair Kimberley) produced 13 points and six boards.
The Scarlet Raiders are 18-6 overall and 13-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Profs have a 9-15 record and a 6-11 conference mark.

Nick DePersia (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) totaled 16 points and forward
Ben Hills (jr. Mount Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) came off the bench for 12 points and seven rebounds. Hills' points and rebounds were both career-marks. Forward

Rob DePersia (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) collected eight points, five rebounds and four assists.
McDaniel's layup gave Rutgers-Newark a 12-point advantage (41-29) at 16:49 in the second half. The Scarlet Raiders were ahead 45-33 (13:52) after a basket by Azoroh. Rowan scored seven straight points to pull within five (45-40) at 11:27. Hills contributed with six points and
Rob DePersia had one. Hills' three-pointer at 10:26 cut the deficit to four (47-43). Guard
Josh Borrelli (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) sank a foul shot (8:53), Hills nailed a three (7:24) and the Profs were down by two (49-47).
Rutgers-Newark led 59-52 (3:57) with two free throws by Azoroh.
Nick DePersia made two foul shots at the 2:50 mark and Rowan was within four (59-55). He had two more points at the line (1:40) and the score was 61-59. Snow's three-point play with 22 seconds remaining gave the Scarlet Raiders a five-point advantage (66-61).
Nick DePersia tallied two foul shots (0:15) then Rutgers-Newark sealed the victory with three of four free throws in the last 14 seconds for the victory. McDaniel had one (0:14) and Azoroh (0:01) followed with two.
In the first half, Rutgers-Newark had its largest lead of 12 points (18-6) after McDaniels' free throw with 7:33 remaining. Rowan followed with a 6-0 spurt and trailed 18-12 at 6:19. Forward

Rob DePersia had two foul shots. The Scarlet Raiders led 27-18 with 3:22 on the clock.
Nick DePersia hit two free throws (3:06) and a three-pointer (2:42), which made the score 27-23. McDaniel registered two foul shots (1:56) for a 29-23 advantage. He also produced one free throw at the one-second mark to lead 32-25 at the break. McDaniel was the scoring leader with 10 points.
Rowan plays its last regular season game at home against William Paterson University on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 6 p.m.
