Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SELINSGROVE, PA – The Rowan University women's volleyball team dropped two matches at Susquehanna University on Saturday.
 
The Profs (7-20) came up short in a 3-2 decision against the United States Coast Guard Academy and lost 3-0 to the host River Hawks.
 
The set scores versus Coast Guard were 25-27, 25-22, 22-25, 29-27 and 16-14. Middle blocker Susan West (sr. Jacksonville Beach, FL/Duncan U. Fletcher) led the Bears with 15 kills. Middle blocker/right side Madison Scott (jr. Lusby, MD/Patuxent) followed with 14 kills and middle blocker/opposite Alex Kempf (fr. Pocatello, ID/Century) and right side Emma Saunders (jr. LaGrange, IL/Nazareth Academy) totaled 10 kills apiece. Setter Makenna Martin (fr. Granbury, TX/Granbury) notched 46 assists and added seven digs. Defensive specialist Michelle McGill (jr. Atlantic Beach, FL/Duncan U. Fletcher) and setter Hailye Reynolds (so. Groesbeck, TX/Groesbeck) totaled 26 and 21 digs respectively.
 
Outside hitter Erica O'Hagan (sr. Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) paced the Profs with 15 digs and 12 kills. Setter Katelyn Paxson (fr. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) amassed 31 assists and 13 digs. Outside hitter Megan Jacobi (fr. Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) produced 15 kills and nine digs. Defensive specialist/libero Rebecca Dantonio (sr. Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) chipped in with 17 digs.
 
Rowan had a 20-15 lead in the first set but Coast Guard had six of the next seven points to tie the score at 21. Both teams had a chance at set point but the score became tied at 25. The Profs scored the next two points to win the set.
 
The Bears held a 22-15 lead in the second stanza. Rowan followed with five straight points to cut the deficit to two but Coast Guard scored two in a row and went on to win the set. The Profs trailed 18-15 in the third set but then went on a 9-1 run for a 24-19 advantage en route to the set victory.
 
Both teams were evenly matched in the fourth, as there were 19 ties. Rowan was ahead 26-25 but the Bears rallied for four of the next five points to even the match. The Profs were up by three (7-4) in the final set before Coast Guard scored the next five. There were three ties before Rowan had a 14-12 edge but the Bears registered four straight points to win the match.
 
The set scores against Susquehanna were 25-21, 25-14 and 25-17. Right side/setter Erin Byrne (sr. San Diego, CA/Scripps Ranch) led the River Hawks with 11 kills. Setter Maggie O'Hearn (sr. Mountville, PA/Hempfield) totaled 22 assists. Outside hitter Caroline Beohm (fr. Reading, PA/Garden Spot) contributed with nine digs and defensive specialist Kasey Bost (fr. Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) added eight.
 
Middle hitter Erin Keegan (so. Fairfield, NJ/West Essex) and Jacobi had five kills apiece for the Profs. Paxson and setter Kat Wolf (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) registered nine and seven assists respectively. Dantonio chipped in with nine digs.
 
Rowan hosts William Paterson University for its final conference match of the regular season on Tuesday, October 25 at 7 p.m.
