Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The #5 Rowan University men's soccer team recorded a 3-0 shutout of Kean University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs stay undefeated at 10-0-1 and they remain in first place in the NJAC with a 3-0-1 mark. The Cougars are 9-3 overall and they are 2-2 in the conference. Profs' goalie
Kyle Dennis (so. South Plainfield, NJ/South Plainfield) made three saves for his fifth shutout. Cougars' goalie Bryce Horn (so. Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe) stopped six shots.
Back Brian Dzobiak (so. Freehold, NJ/Freehold Twp.) put Rowan on the scoreboard when he found the ball in a scrum around the goal line off the head of back
Will Sjaastad (so. Allentown, NJ/Allentown) and scored inside the left post with 22:19 on the clock in the first half. Midfielder
Jake Conners (jr. Manalapan, NJ/Manalapan) initiated the play with a free kick from 25 yards out.
Forward
Travis Ward (jr. New Egypt, NJ/New Egypt) added an insurance tally, heading in a free kick from Conners with 27:30 remaining in the second. The free kick was taken from just inside midfield. Forward
Shane Doherty (so. Delran, NJ/Delran) scored the Profs' final goal at the 88:54 mark after Ward headed him the ball. Doherty beat a defender, dribbled in on net and scored on the wide side.
Rowan now has a six-day break before traveling to Montclair State University on Saturday, Oct. 8 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
