ResultsEWING, NJ – The College of New Jersey men's swimming and diving team had a 162-136 win against Rowan University on Friday night.
The 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays finished second with times of 1:33.77 and 3:07.27 respectively. The medley relay consisted of
Joe Furze (fr. Moorestown, NJ/St. Joseph's Prep (PA)),
Tyler Coe (sr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.),
Nick Marks (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and
Jesse Novak (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan). Marks,
Anthony Czar (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.), Novak and
Eric Feuerstein (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) were on the free relay.
The Profs have a 5-3 record with a 3-1 final conference mark.
John Morris (jr. Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland Reg.) recorded victories in both diving events. He scored 342.85 points on the one-meter board and finished with 340 points in the three-meter diving. In the one-meter,
Mike Grubb (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) had a third place (250.40) and
Steve Numata (fr. Princeton, NJ/Princeton) was fourth (248.40). Numata finished second (263.10) in the three-meter and Grubb followed third (256.85).
Marks swam a winning time of 1:55.44 in the 200 butterfly. He also touched first (50.42) in the 100 butterfly. Novak produced a first place (20.91) in the 50 free and he was second (47.14) in the 100 freestyle.
John Tepper (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Technology) captured first place (9:54.27) in the 1000 freestyle. He took third (4:51.40) in the 500 free.
Czar had a second place (4:50.75) in the 500 freestyle and was fourth (1:44.73) in the 200 free.
Mike Simunek (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) came in second (1:59.59) in the 200 individual medley and
Paul Long (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) followed third (2:00.09). Simunek had a second place (2:07.48) in the 200 breaststroke and was third (58.18) in the 100 breaststroke.
Coe took second (58.07) in the 100 breaststroke and
Jon Shepard (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) was fourth (59.84).
John Shellem (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) came in second (1:58.88) in the 200 butterfly and Furze finished second (1:58.85) in the 200 backstroke. Long and Coe were third (2:11.92) and fourth (2:12.45) respectively in the 200 breaststroke.
Adam Sicinski (fr. Breinigsville, PA/Parkland) finished third (53.85) in the 100 backstroke and fourth (53.44) in the 100 butterfly. Feuerstein had a third place (21.64) in the 50 free and was fourth (48.08) in the 100 freestyle.
Rowan hosts the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, Jan. 30 in the last home meet of the season.
