ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University men's swimming and diving team won 178-102 against conference opponent Montclair State University on Saturday.
Rowan took first place in the 200 medley (1:35.04) and 400 freestyle (3:15.24) relays. The medley relay included
Joe Furze (fr. Moorestown, NJ/St. Joseph's Prep (PA)),
Tyler Coe (sr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.),
Nick Marks (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and
Jesse Novak (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan).
Anthony Czar (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.),
Eric Feuerstein (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit), Marks and Novak were on the freestyle relay.
The Profs are 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC). The Red Hawks have a 6-3 record with a 0-2 conference mark.
Connor Buck (sr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) was the winner in the 200 backstroke (1:59.47) and 400 individual medley (4:16.79). Marks swam a winning time of 59.74 in the 100 breaststroke.
Adam Sicinski (fr. Breinigsville, PA/Parkland) touched first (22.09) in the 50 free.
Kyle Surette (sr. Martinsville, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) came in first (5:04.29) in the 500 freestyle.
Paul Long (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) won the 100 butterfly in 54.83.
Rowan took first through third in the one-meter diving.
John Morris (jr. Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland Reg.) was the winner with 269.78 points.
Mike Grubb (fr. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) took second (211.13) and
Steve Numata (fr. Princeton, NJ/Princeton) was third (209.85).
Steven Buzby (jr. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) won (10:17.56) the 1000 freestyle followed by Buck, second (10:22.48) and
David Smits (fr. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills), third (10:29.02).
Mike Simunek (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) captured first (2:12.14) in the 200 breaststroke.
Czar came in second (56.27) in the 100 backstroke and Novak was third (56.72).
Jon Shepard (sr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) had second places in the 100 (1:01.32) and 200 (2:14.50) breaststrokes. Coe and Czar were second (22.16) and third (22.29) respectively in the 50 free. In the 100 free, Coe had a second place (49.04) and
Nate Wojtowicz (fr. Centreville, MD/Queen Anne's County) was third (49.88).
Feuerstein finished third (1:49.50) in the 200 freestyle.
Luke Wister (jr. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights) took third (2:04.60) in the 200 backstroke.
Cam Sexauer (fr. Pittsburgh, PA/Mount Lebanon) had a third place (5:08.19) in the 500 freestyle.
Marc Gernhardt (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) was third (55.37) in the 100 butterfly.
Next week, Rowan travels to The College of New Jersey on Saturday, Jan. 23 for a 2 p.m. NJAC meet.
