Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team shut out Alvernia University, 4-0 on Monday.

Sami Pagnani (fr. Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Reg.),
Darah Wagner (fr. Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) and
Lisa Cella (jr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) and forward
Maxine New (jr. Clayton, NJ/Clayton) all scored one goal. Forward
Melissa Kelly (so. Parsippany, NJ/DePaul Catholic) contributed with two assists while back
Rebecca Fasano (jr. Westwood, NJ/Westwood Reg.) and midfielder
Sarah Rosenberg (fr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) had one apiece.
The Profs have a 6-1-1 record and the Crusaders drop to 2-8 overall. Goalie
Courtney Simpson (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had two saves in 71:43 and
Hayley Grimm (so. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) was in the goal for the final 18:17. Alvernia goalie Jessica Plunkett (so. Leola, PA/Conestoga Valley) turned away 10 shots.
Pagnani put Rowan on the scoreboard at 38:50. She hit the right side of the net after a cross from Fasano. In the second half, Wagner knocked in a headed pass by Kelly (56:06). Less than four minutes later, New scored on a feed from Kelly. Cella produced the final marker at 63:46 and Rosenberg registered the assist.
Rowan is home against on Wednesday, Sept. 30 against conference opponent Rutgers-Camden at 7 p.m.
