Box Score SEWELL, NJ – The Rowan University women's volleyball team lost to Montclair State University, 3-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night. 
The Profs are 6-5 overall and they are 1-1 in the NJAC. The Red Hawks have an overall mark of 7-4 and they are 1-1 in the conference. The set scores were 25-23, 25-20 and 25-21. 
For Montclair, outside hitter Courtney Matlock (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) recorded 15 kills. Middle blocker Courtney LePore (sr. Deer Park, NY/Deer Park) added seven kills. Setter Kimberly Matlock (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) accumulated 27 assists, 10 digs and three blocks. Setter Ashley Griffith (fr. Westwood, NJ/Westwood) and libero/defensive specialist Danielle Olcese (so. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) contributed with 16 and 13 digs respectively. 
Middle hitter 
Maggie Catherina (sr. Ridgefield, NJ/Ridgefield Mem.) led the Profs with 11 kills. Outside hitter 
Erica O'Hagan (jr. Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) collected eight kills and five digs. Setter 
Mary-Grace Testa (so. Kearny, NJ/Mount Saint Dominic Academy) tallied 16 assists and eight digs. Defensive specialist/setter 
Rebecca Dantonio (jr. Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) had 15 assists and libero 
Jennifer Vorel (jr. Madison, NJ/Madison) recorded 16 digs. 
Rowan jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the first set. The Profs led 7-3 then Montclair State scored six of the next seven points for a 9-8 advantage. Rowan trailed 12-9, but used a 7-1 run to go back out in front 16-13. Opposite/outside hitter 
Jess Quinlan (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had a pair of kills during the spurt. The Red Hawks responded and went ahead 17-16 on a kill by Courtney Matlock. The score was later tied at 22. Montclair was able to pull ahead 24-22 and won the set 25-23. 
The second set had Montclair State with an early 6-1 lead. The Profs fought back and cut the deficit to 9-8 on a kill by O'Hagan. The Red Hawks then went on a 10-1 run and extended their advantage to 19-9. Rowan tried to get back into the set and got to within four points at 24-20 but right side Natalia Majkut (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) recorded a kill to end it. 
The third stanza was a tight affair early on. Rowan was ahead 8-5 after a Testa ace. The Profs then were ahead 14-11 after a kill by Catherina. Montclair State came back and tied the score at 14. The Profs recorded four points, including two kills by O'Hagan for an 18-14 lead. The Red Hawks responded with seven consecutive tallies to go out in front 21-18. Montclair held the lead and won the set. 
The Profs travel to New Jersey City University on Thursday, Sept. 24 for a 7 p.m. conference match.
