ResultsSEWELL, NJ – The Rowan University men's cross country team won a relay meet over Stockton University, 6-24. The first competition of the season was held at Rowan College at Gloucester County.
The Profs finished first, second and third. The relay teams ran a total of eight miles. A Hokum Karem relay is a cross country race where two runners take turns running loops of approximately a mile. Hokum Karem is a term developed by the late J. Owen Huntsman of Wabash College.
The winning relay included
Pat McCurry (sr. Waterford, NJ/Hammonton) and
Nick Nocco (so. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.). They had a combined time of 40:34.57.
Nick Neville (fr. Dayton, NJ/South Brunswick) and
Mike Marano (fr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) finished second in 41:18.86.
Carlos Coronado (jr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) and
John Meyer (jr. Oakland, NJ/Indian Hills) took third with 41:37.60.
William Cheety (jr. National Park, NJ/Gateway Reg.) and Daniel Henry (fr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) had a fourth place in 41:40.15.
Brandon Eldershaw (jr. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Mem.) and
Kevin Veltre (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.) took fifth (42:03.71).
Alec Trapani (so. South Brunswick, NJ/South Brunswick) and
Tyler Sheilds (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) came in seventh (42:23.74).
Ryan Smith (jr. Edison, NJ/Edison) and
Daniel Forman (fr. Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) were ninth (43:21.65).
