Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University softball team topped Stockton University, 6-0 in the first game of its New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) doubleheader on Tuesday. Game two was halted due to rain.
The Profs stay undefeated with a 25-0 mark and they are 7-0 in the conference. The Ospreys are 12-6 overall and 2-3 in the NJAC. Right-hander
Beth Ann Hyland (jr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) threw a complete game for her fifth shutout. She (11-0) allowed just three hits and struck out five. Righty Brittany Ksiezopolski (sr. Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough) went four innings and took the loss (5-3).

Shilah Snead (jr. Malaga, NJ/Delsea Reg.) was two-for-four with a triple and one run scored. First baseman
Damariz Mercado (so. Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) drove in two runs while second baseman
Alysa Romero (sr. Newfield, NJ/Vineland), third baseman
Jessica Phillips (sr. Woolwich, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) and center fielder
Shannon Costello (jr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had one RBI apiece. Designated player
Morgan Smith (fr. Millsboro, DE/Sussex Central) and Romero each scored twice and left fielder
Mia Baldassari (fr. Hopatcong, NJ/Morris Knolls) crossed the plate one time.
Rowan tallied two runs in the first inning when Mercado singled in Romero and Baldassari. Costello's sacrifice fly in the fifth plated Smith. The Profs recorded three more runs in the sixth. Romero had a RBI double before scoring on Phillips' single. Smith registered the final tally on an error.
Rowan visits Washington College (MD) on Thursday, April 9 for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
