Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, FL – The Rowan University softball team shut out Messiah College, 4-0 and St. Norbert College, 13-0 in five innings on Tuesday. The Profs are undefeated with a 14-0 record.
Right-hander
Allison Nolan (jr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) registered the shutout on the mound against Messiah (2-5). She (4-0) pitched a complete game and only allowed four hits. Nolan struck out six batters. Righty Claressa Mees (jr. Stephenson, VA/Homeschool) threw five innings and had the loss. She (1-2) gave up seven hits and three earned runs.
Shortstop
Shilah Snead (jr. Malaga, NJ/Delsea Reg.) produced two doubles, one RBI and two runs. Left fielder
Mia Baldassari (fr. Hopatcong, NJ/Morris Knolls) and second baseman
Alysa Romero (sr. Newfield, NJ/Vineland) each contributed with a hit and one RBI. Center fielder
Shannon Costello (sr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) and right fielder
Sammy Vradenburg (so. Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) scored one run apiece.
Rowan had its first run in the third inning. Romero singled up the middle and Snead came home. The Profs totaled three runs in the fourth. Costello was hit by a pitch and moved to second on first baseman
Damariz Mercado's (so. Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) sac bunt. She stole third base and crossed the plate on a throwing error. Snead drove in Vradenburg with a double to left center. Baldassari reached base with a single and advanced to second on an error while Snead scored.
Versus St. Norbert (1-3), right-hander
Beth Ann Hyland (jr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) pitched three innings for the victory. She scattered five hits and had four strikeouts. Rookie
Rachel Gagliardo (fr. Plainsboro, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro S.) threw the final two innings and did not allow a hit.
Romero went three for three with a double, three RBIs and one run. Snead recorded a home run, two RBIs and two runs. Baldassari produced two hits, a triple and two runs. Third baseman
