Box Score 2 WINTER HAVEN, FL – The Rowan University softball team defeated Farmingdale State College, 6-2 and SUNY Cortland, 4-3 on Sunday. The Profs have won six contests at the Rebel Spring Games and they are 12-0 on the season.
Right-hander
Ashley Lesch (fr. Rockaway, NJ/Morris Knolls) was the winning pitcher in relief versus Farmingdale State. In five innings, Lesch (4-0) gave up three hits and one earned run. She struck out four batters. Righty Taylor Tedeschi (sr. Levittown, NY/Island Trees) took the loss. She (2-3) allowed 13 hits and six runs, five earned.
Left fielder
Mia Baldassari (fr. Hopatcong, NJ/Morris Knolls) was three for four with one run scored. Shortstop
Shilah Snead (jr. Malaga, NJ/Delsea Reg.) totaled two hits (four at bats), two RBIs and one run. Second baseman
Alysa Romero (sr. Newfield, NJ/Vineland) and right fielder
Alyssa Sims (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill W.) each contributed with one hit and one RBI. Romero also scored one run. Center fielder
Shannon Costello (sr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) produced two doubles and two runs. Third baseman
Jessica Phillips (sr. Woolwich, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) had two hits in three at bats and one RBI. First baseman
Damariz Mercado (so. Bloomfield, NJ/Bloomfield) added two hits.
For the Rams, right fielder Marissa Monaco (sr. Bohemia, NY/Connetquot) went two for three with a triple, one RBI and one run. Center fielder Michelle Mongiello (sr. Elmont, NY/Sewanhaka) had three hits in three at bats, a double and one run.
Rowan got on the scoreboard with one run in the bottom of the first inning. Snead crossed the plate on Romero's sacrifice fly. Farmingdale State tied the score in the second. Monaco led off with a single up the middle and went to second on a sac bunt. She advanced to third on an error and scored on a wild pitch. In the bottom half, the Profs went ahead 2-1. Sims drove in Costello with a single.
The Profs added two runs in the third for a 4-1 lead. Baldassari reached base with a single and later came home on an error. Phillips' base hit to left center, scored Romero. The Rams' second run came in the sixth inning. Monaco knocked in Mongiello with a triple. Rowan had two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth. Snead's single to center field brought home Costello and pinch runner

Against Cortland, right-hander
Allison Nolan (jr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown S.) recorded the win on the mound. In five relief innings, Nolan (3-0) only allowed two hits and she had six strikeouts. Alexandrea Flint (so. Dalton, NY/Keshequa) was the losing pitcher. She (0-2) surrendered eight hits and four runs, one earned in five innings.
Snead was one for two with a home run and two runs scored. Romero contributed with two hits and one RBI. Costello had two hits and one run while Sims chipped in with a hit and two RBIs. Catcher
Morgan Smith (fr. Millsboro, DE/Sussex Central) tallied two hits and Mercado scored one run.
Shortstop Erin Wolstenholme (sr. Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) had one hit and two RBIs for the Red Dragons. Left fielder Diane Cork (jr. Wayland, NY/Wayland-Cohocton) registered one hit and scored two runs. Center fielder Jamie Bucci (jr. Tarrytown, NY/Sleepy Hollow) produced one hit and one run.
In the first inning, Snead recorded a solo home run to left center. Cortland took the lead 2-1 in the bottom half. Cork and Bucci both scored on Wolstenholme's single to center field. Rowan went ahead 4-2 in the second. Sims drove in Costello and Mercado with a base hit. Snead came home on Romero's single. Cork crossed the plate on a sac bunt by catcher Devynn Wilder (sr. Oswego, NY/Oswego) in the third inning.
Rowan will take Monday (March 16) off then plays two games on Tuesday, March 17 against Messiah College at 10 a.m. and St. Norbert College at 12:15 p.m.
