ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The Johns Hopkins University men's swim team won 150-112 at Rowan University on Saturday.
The Blue Jays are 2-0-1 overall and the Profs have a 1-2 record. Rowan took first place in the 200 medley (1:34.73) and 400 freestyle (3:09.03) relays. The medley relay included
Joe Furze (fr. Moorestown, NJ/St. Josephs Prep (PA)),
Tyler Coe (sr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.),
Nick Marks (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Gloucester Catholic) and
Jesse Novak (jr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan).
Anthony Czar (jr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Egg Harbor Twp.),
Eric Feuerstein (so. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit),
Nick Marks (jr. Wenonah, NJ/Glouester Catholic) and Novak were on the free relay.
Marks swam a winning time of 1:54.58 in the 200 butterfly and 50.93 in the 100 butterfly. Novak won the 50 (21.10) and 100 (46.99) freestyles. Czar came in second (1:44.02) in the 200 freestyle and he was third (47.54) in the 100 free.
Coe took second (57.78) in the 100 breaststroke and
Paul Long (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) was third (59.94). Long finished second (2:12.71) in the 200 breaststroke while Coe was third (2:13.90) and
Mike Simunek (jr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) took fourth (2:15.11).
Furze had a second place (1:57.45) in the 200 backstroke. In the 100 backstroke, Furze finished third (54.05) followed by
Adam Sicinski (fr. Breinigsville, PA /Parkland), fourth (54.06) and
Dan Lawton (fr. Yardley, PA/Pennsbury), fifth (55.50).
Nick Marte (so. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) and
Marc Gernhardt (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) were third (53.51) and fourth (54.34) respectively in the 100 butterfly.
John Tepper (so. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Technology) took third (4:54.93) in the 500 freestyle and he had a fourth place (10:00.63) in the 1000. Feuerstein was fourth (22.10) in the 50 free and Gernhardt followed fifth (22.62).
Rowan starts its conference schedule on Saturday, Nov. 14 against Ramapo College at 1 p.m.
