Box Score ANNVILLE, PA – The Rowan University men's basketball team won 100-89 over Wilkes University in the first game of the Rinso Marquette Tournament on Friday night. Lebanon Valley College is the host for the tournament.
The Profs (2-2) play the winner of the Penn State Abington/Lebanon Valley game on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the championship. Wilkes (1-1) is in the consolation game prior at 1 p.m.

For the Colonels, guard/forward Steve Stravinski (sr. Pittston, PA/Pittston) totaled 19 points while guard Alec Wizar (sr. Lebanon, PA/Annville Cleona) and forward Zachary Brunner (so. Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) produced 17 apiece. Guard Marcus Robinson (fr. Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Reg.) registered 16 points. Guard/forward Clay Basalyga (fr. Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) pulled down eight rebounds and forward Tommy Bowen (fr. Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) tallied six.
In the second half, Rowan was ahead 68-55 at 13:47. Wilkes scored six straight points and trailed 68-61. Guard Casey Evans (jr. Cicero, NY/Bishop Grimes) made two foul shots (13:28), Robinson hit a jump shot (12:26) and Stravinski had a layup (11:46).
Nick DePersia's three-pointer gave the Profs a 76-63 advantage with 9:50 remaining. The Colonels tied the score at 76 (6:52) with 13 unanswered points.
Nick DePersia nailed a three (6:40) and Booth had two points at the line (6:11) to go up 81-76.
Brunner sank a three-pointer at 3:44 and Wilkes trailed 87-84. With 1:17 left,
Rob DePersia made a free throw and Rowan had a seven point lead (91-84). The Colonels were down by five points (94-89) after Robinson's three with 28 seconds on the clock. Rob and
Nick DePersia each hit two fouls shots (0:23, 0:13) and Booth had a layup (0:06), which ended the game.
Nick DePersia scored 13 points in the second stanza and O'Connor had 12.
