Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's volleyball team won 3-0 over Rutgers-Newark in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night.
The Profs have an overall record of 9-11 and they are 3-2 in the NJAC. The Scarlet Raiders are 9-7 overall and 1-3 in the conference. The set scores were 25-22, 25-21 and 25-14

Mary-Grace Testa (so. Kearny, NJ/Mount Saint Dominic Academy) collected 19 and 14 assists respectively. Dantonio also tallied 10 digs. Defensive specialist
Kerriann Manziano (jr. Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) contributed with 18 digs. Libero
Jennifer Vorel (jr. Madison, NJ/Madison) added 13 digs.
For Rutgers-Newark, outside hitters Jess Moy (fr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) and Cassie Luken (fr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.) and middle blocker Sharee Gordon (sr. Newark, NJ/University) each accumulated six kills. Setter Nathalie Breining (so. Colonia, NJ/Colonia) contributed with 21 digs. Right side Tabitha Davis (jr. Irvington, NJ/Benedictine Academy) added 14 digs. Libero Sue Riley (so. Rahway, NJ/Roselle Catholic) chipped in with 11 digs and defensive specialist/libero Kathy Hormaza (jr. Morristown, NJ/Morristown) had 10.
The Scarlet Raiders jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first set. Following a Rowan timeout, the Profs used an 8-2 spurt to draw to within one point (10-9). Rutgers-Newark responded with four straight tallies to extend its advantage to 14-9. The Profs then went on a 10-2 run, that included four kills by Havlicek to got out in front 19-16. The teams traded points down the stretch and Rowan came away with the victory.
In the second set the score was tied at six. Rowan recorded the next five points for an 11-6 lead. Testa had two service aces. The Profs were ahead 13-9 then the Scarlet Raiders scored five straight to go ahead 14-13. Luken tallied two service aces. The set was knotted at 16. Rowan tallied four consecutive points for a 20-16 advantage. The Profs held the lead and took the second set.
Rowan went out in front 7-1 in the final set. Middle hitter
Maggie Catherina (sr. Ridgefield, NJ/Ridgefield Mem.) collected two straight kills, Sanchez chipped in with two and O'Hagan added one. Rutgers-Newark got to within 8-5 on a kill by Davis, but the Profs scored the next three points to extend the advantage to 11-5. Moy's kill made the score 12-9. Rowan used a 13-5 run to end the set and match.
