Women's Volleyball Loses Two Matches At Quad

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's volleyball team lost two matches in the Rowan Quad on Saturday afternoon. New York University had a 3-0 victory and the University of Scranton won 3-1.
 
Rowan has an overall record of 11-17. NYU is 13-14 and Scranton has a mark of 24-9 after today's action.
 
The set scores against NYU were 25-14, 25-18 and 25-19. Outside hitter Shelby King (fr. Norcross, GA/Norcross) led the Violets with 11 kills and 10 digs. Setter Daryl Mitchell (fr. Douglasville, GA/Chapel Hill) recorded 28 assists. Libero Brook Tannahill (so. Albany, CA/Albany) tallied 15 digs.
 
For Rowan, outside hitter Danielle Havlicek (sr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) collected six kills. Setter Mary-Grace Testa (so. Kearny, NJ/Mount Saint Dominic Academy) contributed with 13 assists and six digs. Defensive specialist/setter Rebecca Dantonio (jr. Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) added nine assists. Outside hitter Erica O'Hagan (jr. Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) had six digs.
 
The set scores versus Scranton were 25-20, 21-25, 25-20 and 25-18. Middle hitter/right side Stephanie Klug (sr. Mountain Top, PA/Crestwood) had 13 kills and three service aces for the Royals. Middle hitter Rachael Cisto (sr. Oxford, CT/Sacred Heart Academy) added nine kills. Outside hitter Lizzy Zimmermann (sr. Livingston, NJ/Livingston) tallied eight kills and 12 digs. Setter Brittany Cafiero (jr. Merrick, NY/Kellenberg Mem.) collected 33 assists and defensive specialist Kim Marino (sr. Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) had 17 digs.
 
Havlicek accumulated nine kills and eight digs. Testa recorded 17 assists and Dantonio had 13. O'Hagan contributed with 16 digs.
 
Rowan returns to action on Friday, Oct. 30 at the New York Regional Challenge hosted by Nazareth College. The Profs face SUNY Fredonia at 4 p.m. and Stevens Institute of Technology at 8 p.m.
