Box Score JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team shut out New Jersey City University, 2-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday.
 
The Profs have a 10-2-2 record and they are 5-1-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).  The Gothic Knights are 4-11-1 overall and 0-8 in the conference.
 
Rowan scored one goal in each half.  Forward Maxine New (jr. Clayton, NJ/Clayton) had the first tally at 17:58 on a breakaway pass from midfielder Lisa Cella (jr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.).  Forward Cathryn McCarry (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) hit the inside of the left post (63:01) with a cross by back Ali Hicks (fr. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.). 
 
Goalie Courtney Simpson (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) recorded her fourth shutout on the season.  NJCU goalkeeper Cassie Lubonski (sr. Edison, NJ/Edison) stopped 11 shots.
 
Next week, Rowan hosts The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at 5 p.m.  It is the last conference game of the regular season.  The NJAC Championship Tournament starts on Saturday, Oct. 31 with two first round games.
