ResultsGLASSBORO, NJ – The College of New Jersey men's swimming and diving team defeated Rowan University, 155.5-138.5 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) meet on Saturday afternoon.
The Profs have a record of 8-1 and they are 2-1 in the NJAC. The Lions are 6-2 overall with a 3-0 conference mark.
Rowan's
John Morris (so. Bridgeton, NJ/Cumberland Reg.) won the one-meter (356.85) and the three-meter (356.93) diving.
Killian O'Gorman (jr. Short Hills, NJ/Millburn) placed second on the one-meter board (266.78) and in the three-meter (270.45).
Tyler Coe (jr. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.) had a victory in the 100 breaststroke in a time of 58.23.
Jesse Novak (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) was the winner in the 50 (20.91) and 100 (46.69) freestyles.
Mike Simunek (so. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) finished first (2:08.21) in the 200 breaststroke.
John Tepper (fr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Atlantic County Institute of Technology) came in second (10:00.41) and
Zac Wister (sr. Haddon Heights, NJ/Haddon Heights), third (10:02.64) in the 1000 freestyle. They were also second (4:49.31) and third (4:50.83) in the 500 freestyle.
Brian Suatengco (fr. Toms River, NJ/Donovan Catholic) and
Patrick Myers (jr. Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) finished second (59.25) and third (1:00.38) respectively in the 100 breaststroke. Suatengco was also third (2:09.43) in the 200 breaststroke.
John Shellem (fr. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) tied for first place (1:59.47) in the 200 butterfly and
Connor Buck (jr. Eastampton, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) was third (2:01.24). Buck also took second (1:58.49) in the 200 backstroke and Shellem finished third (52.37) in the 100 butterfly.
Steven Buzby (so. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) was third (1:47.33) in the 200 freestyle.
Eric Emerson (so. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) had a third place (55.42) in the 100 backstroke.
Novak, Shellem, Myers and Coe finished second (3:10.83) in the 400 freestyle relay. The 200 medley relay of Emerson, Coe, Shellem and
Eric Feuerstein (fr. Absecon, NJ/Holy Spirit) came in third (1:37.05).
For TCNJ, Ryan Gajdzisz (so. Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) won the 1000 (9:50.06) and 500 (4:41.71) freestyles and the 200 individual medley (1:56.90). Scott Vitabile (so. East Windsor, NJ/Hightstown) came in first (1:43.87) in the 200 freestyle. Aleksander Burzynski (sr. Colonia, NJ/St. Joseph's) finished first (53.49) in the 100 backstroke.
Logan Barnes (fr. Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington County Reg.) had a victory (1:59.47) in the 200 butterfly. Jin Roh (so. Tenafly, NJ/Tenafly) had a first place (1:58.06) in the 200 backstroke. Joseph Dunn (jr. Fanwood, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) won (50.70) the 100 butterfly.
The Lions took first place in both relays. The 200 medley relay had Burzynski, James Shangle (jr. Highland Park, NJ/Highland Park), Vitabile and Brett Pedersen (sr. Sewell, NJ/St. Augustine Prep) swim a time of 1:35.75. Dunn, Vitabile, Brian Perez (sr. Matawan, NJ/St. John Vianney) and Pedersen had a time of 3:06.71 in the 400 freestyle relay.
