ROXBURY, MA – The Rowan University women's indoor track team finished fourth out of 62 schools at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday. The two-day meet was held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.
The Profs totaled 35 points and they were only three points behind champion Amherst College with 38. Massachusetts Institute of Technology was second (36.50) followed by St. Lawrence University, third (36). Rounding out the top five was New York University (33).
Shailah Williams (so. Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) won the 200 meters with a time of 25.29. Williams also had an eighth place (7.95) in the 60 meter dash.
Jamie Thompson (sr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) came in third (8.94) in the 60 meter hurdles. She finished fourth in the long jump with 17' 7.25" (5.37 meters).
The 4x400 meter relay was sixth with a time of 3:55.64. The relay consisted of Tashay Wilson (jr. Hillside, NJ/Hillside), Brianna Crofton (jr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.), Jessalynn Wright (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and Williams.
Wright came in ninth (2:18.04) in the 800 meters. Paige Brown (fr. Princeton, NJ/W. Windsor-Plainsboro S.) tied for 10th in the high jump with 5' 2.5" (1.59 meters). Wilson took 17th place (59.71) in the 400 meters and Crofton was 23rd (1:00.08).
