ROXBURY, MA – The Rowan University women's indoor track team competed on the first day of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Friday.  The meet is being held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center.

The Profs won the 4x200 meter relay in 1:42.60.  The relay included Shailah Williams (so. Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton Twp.), Melirah Searcy (jr. Edison, NJ/Edison), Jamie Thompson (sr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) and Brianna Crofton (jr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.).

Thompson took second place in the 60 meter hurdles prelims with a time of 8.94.  She advances to the final on Saturday at 10:45 a.m.  Williams came in third (7.78) in the prelims of the 60 meter dash.  She will run in the final at 11:35 a.m.

Jessica Carlson (sr. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) finished 15th in the triple jump with 35' 2.5" (10.73 meters) and Paige Brown (fr. Princeton, NJ/W. Windsor-Plainsboro S.) was 20th (33' 8", 10.26 meters).  In the 60 meter hurdles prelims, Carlson and Brown were 20th (9.38) and 21st (9.45) respectively. 

The ECAC Championships continue on Saturday, March 8 starting at 10 a.m.
