Williams Wins 200 Meters At NCAA Women's Indoor Track Championships

LINCOLN, NE – Rowan University's Shailah Williams won the 200 meters at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track Championships on Saturday.  The national championships were held at the University of Nebraska's Bob Devaney Sports Center. 

Jamie Thompson (sr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) and Williams (so. Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) earned All-America honors.  The top eight finishers in each event at the national championships are All-Americans. 

In the 200 meters, Williams had a winning and school record time of 24.41.  She improved on her previous mark of 24.87 from the prelims.  Williams also earned All-America in the 60 meter dash.  She took fourth place in 7.67, which tied her University record.  

Thompson finished sixth in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.81.  In the prelims, she had a time of  8.78, which was a Rowan record.  On Friday, Thompson was an All-American in the long jump.  She came in sixth with a leap of 18' 1.75" (5.53 meters).  Thompson improved on her school record (18' 1", 5.50 meters). 

Rowan was eighth (21 points) in the team scoring out of 61 schools that were represented at the NCAA Division III Championships.  The University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh captured the national title with 67 points.
