Box Score JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Rowan University men's soccer team defeated conference opponent New Jersey City University, 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Profs are 10-8 overall and 4-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.  The Gothic Knights have a 1-14-4 record and a 0-7-1 conference mark.  Rowan goalkeeper Graeham Gotrell (jr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) made six saves.  For NJCU, goalie Tyler Krychkowski (jr. North Arlington, NJ/North Arlington) stopped nine shots.
 
Rowan was ahead 2-0 after the first half.  Back Shane Patterson (so. Mullica Hill, NJ/Clearview Reg.) scored at 14:11 with a shot from inside the box.  Midfielder Vinny Ignatowicz's goal (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River S.) was a shot from the right wing (32:07).
 
Forward Christian Fountain (sr. Fredericksburg, VA/Stafford) hit the net (63:13) with a one-timer after a pass from midfielder Steve Kim (fr. Chantilly, VA/Chantilly).  Back Mohamed Elamin (fr. Jersey City, NJ/Ferris) spoiled the shutout with 41 seconds left.  He knocked in a rebound off a free kick.  Midfielder/back Marco Campos (fr. Union, NJ/St. Benedict's Prep) had an assist.       
 
Next week, Rowan plays its last regular season game at The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m.
