Box Score MAHWAH, NJ – The Rowan University women's volleyball team won over Ramapo College, 3-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night.
The set scores were 25-16, 20-25, 25-15 and 25-22. The Profs have a record of 11-13 and they are 4-2 in the conference. The Roadrunners are 17-8 and 3-2 in the NJAC.

Morgan Mende (jr. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) led Rowan with 17 kills and had a .371 hitting percentage. Outside hitter
Danielle Havlicek (jr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) recorded 11 kills and nine digs with a .308 hitting percentage. Opposite/outside hitter
Kelsey Mazurek (jr. Easton, PA/Easton Area) added 10 kills and had a .381 hitting percentage. Setter
Mary-Grace Testa (fr. Kearny, NJ/Mount Saint Dominic Academy) tallied 26 assists and 13 digs, while setter
Rebecca Dantonio (so. Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) registered 21 assists and 12 digs. Libero #Jennifer# Vorel (so. Madison, NJ/Madison) had 27 digs. Outside hitter
Erica O'Hagan (so. Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) produced 21 digs and seven kills.
For Rampao, outside hitters Rachel Selmore (so. Morristown, NJ/Morristown) and Cathryn Smart (jr. Princeton Junction, NJ/West Windsor-Plainsboro S.) each had 11 kills. Selmore also tallied 14 digs. Middle blocker Emily Guzman (so. Clifton, NJ/Clifton) collected nine kills and six digs. Setter Kaitlin Mac Iver (jr. Hillsdale, NJ/Pascack Valley) accumulated 28 assists and 11 digs. Libero Emily Harris (jr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had 26 digs.
The Profs scored the first four points of the opening set, which included two Havlicek kills and one by Mende. The Roadrunners got to within one (8-7) on a kill by Mac Iver then Rowan went on a 10-3 run to extend its advantage to 18-10. Havlicek recorded two kills during the spurt. Mende ended the first set with a kill.
Ramapo took an 8-2 lead to begin the second set. The Profs trailed 13-7 then scored seven straight points, capped off by a Havlicek kill to go ahead 14-13. The set was tied six times, the last time at 20. The Roadrunners tallied the final five points with Smart's kill finishing the set.
Rowan took a 4-0 lead in the third set on three kills by Testa and one from Mende. A Mende kill extended the Profs' advantage to 11-3. Ramapo cut the deficit to 12-8 then Rowan scored four consecutive points for a 16-8 lead. The Profs maintained their cushion and won the third set.
The Profs led 4-3 in the fourth set then Ramapo tallied four straight points that included two service aces by libero Irmak Dagistanli (so. Istanbul, Turkey) to go ahead 7-4. The set was then knotted seven times. The Profs trailed 18-17 and used a 6-0 spurt for a 23-18 lead. Mazurek registered two kills while O'Hagan and Mende had one apiece. Middle hitter/outside hitter Maggie Catherina (jr. Ridgefield, NJ/Ridgefield Mem.) recorded a kill to end the match.
Rowan hosts William Paterson University on Thursday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
