Box Score 2 GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women's volleyball defeated Penn State Abington, 3-0 and lost to Kenyon College, 3-2 at the Rowan University Invitational.

Erica O'Hagan (so. Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) had six kills and six digs. Outside hitter
Danielle Havlicek (jr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) had 11 digs.
For Penn State Abington, outside hitter Rachel Bohl (so. Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) collected six kills. Setter/defensive specialist Sam Nelson (so. Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks W.) had 14 assists and defensive specialist/libero Victoria Lohman (so. Frederick, MD/Brunswick) had 20 digs.
Rowan jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the first set. Penn State Abington came to within 13-11 on a kill by middle blocker Maria Farrell (so. Philadelphia, PA/MaST Community Charter). The Profs used a 6-2 spurt, capped off by a Testa kill to extend the advantage to 19-13. Bohl made the score 19-15 with a kill, but the Profs tallied six of the final nine points in the set.
Set two saw the Profs go ahead 7-2 once again. Rowan led 11-10 and then ended the set on a 14-5 run. Rowan opened the third set, scoring seven of the first eight points and never looked back. The match was ended by a Mende kill.
Against Kenyon, Mende tallied 16 kills for a .344 hitting percentage and she had four blocks. Havlicek tallied 10 kills and eight digs, while O'Hagan collected nine kills and eight digs. Testa amassed 22 assists and 12 digs. Setter

Maggie Catherina (jr. Ridgefield, NJ/Ridgefield Mem.) had four blocks. The set scores were 22-25, 25-23, 25-23, 12-25 and 15-13.
Kenyon was led by outside hitter Tierney McClure (fr. Toledo, OH/Bowsher) who had 15 kills and 12 digs. Outside Hitter Katie Goulder (jr. Upper Montclair, NJ/Montclair-Kimberly Academy) collected 19 digs and eight kills. Setters Jensen Shurbert (fr. Santa Cruz, CA/Pacific Collegiate School) and Hannah Shank (sr. San Rafael, CA/Marin Academy) had 21 and 14 assists, respectively. Libero Rachel Thorson (fr. Larkspur, CA/Redwood) tallied 11 digs.
A service ace by middle blocker Kaitlyn Power (sr. Pacific Palisades, CA/Viewpoint School) gave Kenyon a 10-5 advantage in the first set. The Ladies led 20-15, but Rowan went on a 10-2 run to end the first set. O'Hagan had two kills during the run and the set ended with a Mende kill.
The second set was tied at 10. A 6-1 spurt by Kenyon, which included two service aces by Shurbert gave the Ladies a 16-11 lead. Rowan trailed 22-14, but scored seven straight points to pull to within one (22-21). Havlicek had two service aces during the run. Mende's service ace made it 24-23, but a Shurbert kill gave Kenyon the set.
Set three was tied 11 times, including at 21. Back-to-back kills by McClure and a Thorson service ace gave Kenyon a 24-21 lead. Opposite/outside hitter Kelsey Mazurek (jr. Easton, PA/Easton Area) and O'Hagan had consecutive kills to cut the deficit to 24-23. McClure then ended the set with a kill.
Rowan scored the first nine points of the fourth set and Kenyon could not recover. The Ladies only got as close as six points at 17-11. The Profs scored eight of the last nine points of the set.
The deciding set began with an 8-1 run by Rowan, which included four service aces by Vorel. Rowan led 13-4 and then Kenyon scored the final 11 points of the set to win the match. Goulder and Shurbert each had two kills in the final run.
The Profs have an overall record of 9-13. They continue play at the Rowan University Invitational on Saturday against Centenary College at 2 p.m.
