Results

NEW YORK, NY – The Rowan University women's indoor track team competed at the Ramapo College Indoor Select on Saturday.  The meet was held at the Armory.

Shailah Williams (so. Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) took third place in the 60 meters with a school record time of 7.84.  She broke the mark of 7.92 that was held by Heidi DeGuzman (2009).  Williams also came in seventh (26.43) in the 200 meters. 

Jessalynn Wright (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) finished second (2:18.93) in the 800 meters and Melirah Searcy (jr. Edison, NJ/Edison) followed third (2:19.15).  Jamie Thompson (sr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) was third (9.11) in the 60 meter hurdles and fifth in the long jump with 17' 0.5" (5.19 meters). 

The 4x400 meter relay with Tashay Wilson (so. Hillside, NJ/Hillside), Williams, Wright and Searcy took fourth place (3:59.52).  The distance medley relay was sixth with a time of 13:35.37.  The relay included Priscila Antuna (sr. Waretown, NJ/Southern Reg.), Samantha Stapleton (sr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown), Vanessa Valdes (so. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) and Grace Kaler (sr. Parisppany, NJ/Parsippany Hills).

Nicole Ras (fr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) tied for third in the long jump.  She had a leap of 17' 1.25" (5.21 meters).  In the triple jump, Felicia Smith (fr. Neptune, NJ/Neptune) and Jessica Carlson (sr. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) were ninth (34' 5.5", 10.50 meters) and 11th (34' 3.5", 10.45 meters) respectively. 

Wilson was 11th (1:00.58) in the 400 meters.  Rebecca Malos (fr. Wall, NJ/Wall) finished 11th (9.76) in the 60 meter hurdles.  Melissa Lake (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) was 14th in the shot put with a toss of 33' 8" (10.26 meters).

Next, Rowan travels to Princeton University on Saturday, January 25 for the Tiger Open at 11 a.m.
