Women's Volleyball Wins Two Matches at Spartan Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 YORK, PA – Rowan University won both of its matches at the Spartan Invitational on Saturday. The Profs defeated FDU-Florham, 3-1 and Penn State Abington, 3-1. The matches were held on the campus of York College.

Rowan started the day with a win over FDU-Florham, 25-20, 11-25, 25-18 and 25-17. The Devils are now 10-12 on the season. Middle hitter Dakota Oeskovic (sr. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) was the offensive leader with 18 kills. She also had seven digs and two blocks. Setter Rebecca Dantonio (fr. Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) recorded 40 assists, three service aces and eight digs in the victory. Libero Casey Grasso (sr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) led the team defensively with 30 digs. Defensive specialists Nicole Ciandella (sr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) and Gabby Kulikowski (jr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) totaled 13 and 12 digs respectively.

In its second match of the day, Rowan won by set scores of 25-20, 25-18, 21-25 and 25-19 over the Nittany Lions. Outside hitter Danielle Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) collected 17 kills, six digs and a block. Dantonio accumulated 35 assists and 10 digs, while Grasso had 22 digs. Defensive specialist Lauren Ruffalo (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) chipped in with 10 digs. Oeskovic and outside hitter Kirsten Sciolaro (sr. Wayne, NJ/Wayne Valley) each had nine kills.

Rowan (10-6) will return to action on Tuesday, October 1 at Kean University at 7 p.m.
