SWARTHMORE, PA – The Rowan University women’s track and field team competed at the Swarthmore College Last Chance Qualifier on Monday night.

Vanessa Wright (sr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) won the 5000 meters with a time of 17:00.71.  Shailah Williams (fr. Pembeton, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) was the winner in the 400 meters (56.52). Her time broke the school record that was 56.82.  Brianna Crofton (so. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) finished second in the 400 meters (57.33).  Jessica Lomonaco (jr. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) came in second in the discus with a throw of 125’ 0.25” (38.10 meters). 

Jamie Thompson (jr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) took fourth (14.65) in the100 meter hurdles and seventh (16’ 5.25”, 5.01 meters) in the long jump.  Melirah Searcy  (so. Edison, NJ/Edison) had a fourth place (1:04.67) in the 400 meter hurdles and Joyce Perry (fr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick) followed fifth (1:05.56).  Perry also finished 12th (15.36) in the 100 meter hurdles.  

Jewel Brown (fr. Clayton, NJ/Clayton) came in sixth (59.75) in the 400 meters while Tashay Wilson (so. Hillside, NJ/Hillside) and Jessalynn Wright (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) were eighth (1:00.40) and ninth (1:00.44) respectively.  Jessica Carlson (jr. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) took eighth (15.08) in the 100 meter hurdle.  Kelsey Lewis (fr. Belford, NJ/Middletown N.) finished ninth (4’ 10.25”, 1.48 meters) in the high jump.
