LAKEWOOD, NJ – The Rowan University men’s and women’s track and field teams competed on the first day of the Collegiate Track Conference Championships on Friday.  The two-day championships are being held at Georgian Court University.

Sarah Dores (jr. Maple Sade, NJ/Holy Cross) took second in the javelin with a throw of 128’ 3” (39.10 meters).  Onyi Obelle (fr. Hackensack, NJ/Hackensack) came in fourth (42:40.60) in the 10,000 meters.  Jessalynn Wright (fr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) had a fifth place (8’ 6.25”, 2.60 meters) in the pole vault.

Emily Spieker (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cheroke) finished sixth (138’ 8”, 42.28 meters) in the hammer followed by Jess Lomonaco (jr. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.), seventh (132’ 0.5”, 40.25 meters) and Steph Greco (sr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) was 13th (111’ 5”, 33.96 meters). 

In the men’s 10,000 meters, Raj Singh (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) came in fifth (34:32.32).  Steven Iafrate (jr. Closter, NJ/Demarest) took fifth place (185’ 4”, 56.50 meters) in the javelin and Joe Kelly (fr. Pitman, NJ/Pitman) was ninth (149’, 10”, 45.67 meters).  Frank Rubino (fr. Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) finished ninth (20’ 9”, 6.32 meters) in the long jump.
