PRINCETON, NJ – The Rowan University women’s track team competed at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday. The two-day meet with schools from Division I, II and III was held at Princeton University.
The Profs won the 4x400 meter relay with a school record time of 3:49.70. The old mark was 3:53.49 from earlier this season. The 4x400 included Brianna Crofton (so. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.), Joyce Perry (fr. Pittsgrove, NJ/A.P. Schalick), Shailah Williams (fr. Pemberton, NJ/Pemberton Twp.) and Melirah Searcy (so. Edison, NJ/Edison). The 4x100 meter finished eighth with Williams, Perry, Shantel Beckford (so. Piscataway, NJ/Piscataway) and Crofton in 48.17.
In the 400 meter hurdles, Searcy came in 14th (1:04.28) and Jamie Thompson (jr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) was 17th (1:04.88). Crofton took 13th (57.85) in the 400 meters and Williams was 20th (58.72). Beckford finished 27th (12.80) in the 100 meters.
