NAPERVILLE, IL – Rowan University’s Vanessa Wright earned All-America honors in the one mile run at the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday at North Central College.  The national championships were held at the Al B. Carius Track. 

Wright (sr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) finished in sixth place with a career best of 4:53.38.  Her time is the University record for the one mile.  Wis.-Oshkosh’s Christy Cazzola was the national champion in 4:48.11. 

In the prelims on Friday, Wright ran 4:56.28, which was better than the first time she set the school mark (4:56.60) at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships.

This season, Wright won the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) championship in 5:01.29.  At the Collegeville Classic, Wright ran a winning time of 5:04.91.  She was named the NJAC Track Athlete of the Week two times.
