NAPERVILLE, IL – The Rowan University women’s indoor track team had three individuals that competed at the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday, March 8 at North Central College.  The national championship finals will be held on Saturday, March 9 at the Al B. Carius Track. 

Vanessa Wright (sr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield Mem.) advanced to the final of the one mile run on Saturday at 2:40 p.m.  In the prelims, she finished fourth in heat one with a time of 4:56.28.  Her time was a career best and improved on the school record that she holds.  Wright is ninth out of the 10 runners that qualified for the final.

Jamie Thompson (jr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) took 13th (9.20) in the 60 meter hurdles prelims.  Brianna Crofton (so. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) came in 13th (58.49) in the prelims of the 400 meters.

This season, Wright set the school record in the one mile with a time of 4:56.60 at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships.  She won the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) championship in 5:01.29.

Thompson had her season best time of 8.92 in the prelims of the 60 meter hurdles at the ECAC Championships.  She was the conference champion in 9.10 and broke the NJAC record with 9.0 in the prelims.  At the NJAC Championships, Crofton won the 400 meters in 57.00.  She set a new school mark with a time of 56.80 at the NYU Fastrack Challenge.
