GALLOWAY, NJ – The Richard Stockton College women’s basketball team won 77-39 over conference opponent Rowan University in the last game of the regular season on Wednesday night.

The Ospreys are 12-12 overall and 7-9 in the conference.  Richard Stockton will be the sixth seed in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Championship Tournament that starts on Saturday, February 16.  The Profs end the season 5-20 overall and 1-15 in the NJAC.   

The Ospreys had four players that scored in double figures.  Center/forward Kelsey Brown (so. Washington Twp., NJ/Washington Twp.) led the way with 16 points and nine rebounds.  Guard/forward Che’Na Thompson (sr. Salem, NJ/Salem) recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds.  She collected seven steals and five assists.  Guard/forward Alex Nardoza (so. Woodbridge, NJ/Woodbridge) totaled 13 points, five assists and five steals.  Forward Sara Farrell (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds.  Forward Ta’Yon Morgan-Jones (fr. Atlantic City, NJ/Atlantic City) produced 10 boards.

For the Profs, forward Erin Farrell (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) and center Stephanie Krauss (sr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) compiled eight points apiece.  Guards Tia Scott (fr. Paulsboro, NJ/Paulsboro) and Alexis Govan (jr. Bridgeton, NJ/Camden City Technical School) both had seven points. Govan and guard Bria Hill (so. Atlantic City, NJ/Atlantic City) registered nine and seven rebounds respectively.   

Richard Stockton started the game with a 16-2 run in 9:22.  Thompson, Brown and Sara Farrell all contributed with four points.  Guard Jennifer Galamb (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River N.) and Morgan-Jones each had two points.  Forward Cara Parliament (jr. Manchester, NJ/Manchester Twp.) made a layup at 7:10, which made the score 23-4.  At the seven minute mark, the Ospreys were ahead by 17 points (23-6).  Richard Stockton then had a 13-0 run to lead by 30 (36-6) with 4:13 remaining.  Brown scored six points while guard Shannon Clark (fr. Folsom, PA/Ridley) followed with five and Thompson had two.  Erin Farrell had a layup at 1:16 and Rowan trailed 40-17.  Nardoza’s basket at the 19 second mark ended the scoring.  The Ospreys were ahead 42-17 at the intermission.  Brown compiled 12 points in the first half.

In the second stanza, Morgan-Jones’ layup increased the lead to 36 (57-21) at 15:23.  Sara Farrell hit a three at 9:53 for a 41 point advantage (64-23).  It was the Ospreys’ biggest lead of the game.  Sara Farrell sank two foul shots (4:53) to lead 71-31.  Parliament hit back-to-back jumpers (1:09, :12) and Richard Stockton was ahead 77-37. Erin Farrell followed with a jumper as time expired. Nardoza scored nine points in the final period while Thompson and Farrell had eight and seven respectively.
