GLASSBORO NJ – The Rowan University men's swim team won 176-67 against Misericordia University on Saturday. The Profs are undefeated with a 3-0 record.
Rowan won the 200 medley (1:37.80) and 400 freestyle (3:17.32) relays. The medley relay included Larry Dow (sr. Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams), Tyler Coe (so. North Brunswick, NJ/North Brunswick Twp.), Chris Cannizzaro (jr. Cedar Grove, NJ/St. Peter's Prep) and Jesse Novak (fr. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan). Novak, Pat Malone (sr. Sewell, NJ/Gloucester Catholic), Troy Cervini (jr. Vineland, NJ/Vineland) and Michael Demarest (sr. Galloway, NJ/Absegami) made up the free relay.
Malone came in first in the 100 (52.94) and 200 (1:58.88) butterflies and 100 freestyle (46.86). Novak won the 50 free (21.11) and was second in the 100 freestyle (47.90). Coe had a first place in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.43) and he was second in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.75).
Steven Buzby (fr. Linwood, NJ/Mainland Reg.) finished first in the 200 (1:47.71) and 500 (4:55.47) freestyles. Zac Wister (jr. Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Heights) was the winner in the 1000 freestyle (10:17.73). Kyle DeVore (fr. Annapolis, MD/South River) was first in the 200 backstroke (2:00.74) and Mike Simunek (fr. Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill E.) won the 200 individual medley (2:01.45). Eric Emerson (fr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) captured first place in the 100 backstroke (56.11). Cervini finished third the 100 free (48.81) and Patrick Myers (so. Kennett Square, PA/Kennett) was third in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.92).
Next, Rowan hosts St. Francis College on Saturday, November 9 at 1 p.m.
