Women's Volleyball Defeats Ramapo, 3-0

Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University defeated Ramapo College, 3-0 on Tuesday night in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match.
 
Rowan won by the set scores of 25-19, 26-24 and 25-16. The Profs are 20-8 overall and they have a conference mark of 6-1. The Roadrunners have an overall record of 15-13 and they are 4-3 in the NJAC. The Profs finished the regular season a perfect 10-0 at home.

Outside hitter Danielle Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Midland) recorded 10 kills along with 25 digs. Middle hitter Morgan Mende (so. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) collected 14 kills. Setter Rebecca Dantonio (fr. Glen Mills, NJ/Garnet Valley) tallied 36 assists and nine digs. Libero Casey Grasso (sr. Willmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) had 19 digs.
 
For Ramapo, outside hitter Rachel Selmore (fr. Morristown, NJ/Morristown) accumulated 11 kills and 10 digs. Middle blocker Sara Pendleton (jr. Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford) added 12 kills. Setter Kaitlin Mac Iver (so. Hillsdale, NJ/Pascack Valley) tallied 29 assists. Outside hitter Catherine Kilduff (so. New Milford, NJ/Paramus Catholic) and defensive specialist Emily Harris (so. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) recorded 15 and 11 digs respectively.
 
The score was tied at eight in set one, but a 4-1 run gave Rowan a 12-9 lead. The Profs then led 15-14 and ended the set on 10-4 spurt. The second set was close through out with nine ties. It was 20-20 when Ramapo went on a 4-1 run to take a 24-21 lead. Rowan then scored five straight to come from behind and win the second set. The Profs jumped out in front 8-0 to start the third set and never looked back. The Roadrunners could only get as close as four points during the set and Rowan won by a nine-point margin.
 
Rowan will travel to face Widener University on October 25 for a 7 p.m. match.
