Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – The Richard Stockton College men's soccer team won 4-2 over conference opponent Rowan University on Wednesday night.
Forward Chris Katona (sr. Howell, NJ/Howell) led the Ospreys with three goals and forward Pat Rafferty (sr. Brick, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) had one. The Profs' goals were scored by forward Travis Cortes (so. Scotch Plains, NJ/Scotch Plains-Fanwood) and forward Dylan Smith (sr. Hamilton, NJ/Steinert).
Richard Stockton has a 7-2-2 record with a 3-1 mark in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan is 6-5 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The score was tied at one after the first half. Katona's first goal was a header at 17:25 with an assist from forward Anthony Colofranson (fr. Woodbury Heights, NJ/Gateway Reg.). Cortes tied the score at 39:51 when he headed in a cross by midfielder Lou Buonocore (sr. Hazlet, NJ/Raritan).
Katona scored again at 46:42 and Rafferty had the assist. Rafferty's goal came on a penalty kick at 57:24 and he hit the upper right side of the net. At 62:27, Katona recorded his third goal on a breakaway. Smith scored with a penalty kick at 77:17.
The Profs' goalie Ryan Gill (sr. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) turned away four shots. For the Ospreys, goalkeeper Bob Millar (so. Cream Ridge, NJ/Allentown) made one save.
Next, Rowan travels to William Paterson University on Saturday, October 5 for a 5 p.m. conference game.
