Box Score GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan University defeated Goucher College, 3-0 on Tuesday night. Rowan won by the set scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-21.

The Profs improve to 16-8 overall, while the Gophers have an overall mark of 9-14. Setter Rebecca Dantonio (fr. Glen Mills, PA/Garnet Valley) recorded 29 assists and had four digs in the victory. Outside hitter Danielle Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) tallied 11 kills and 11 digs, while middle hitter Morgan Mende (so. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) added eight kills. Outside hitter Erica O'Hagan (fr. Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) collected nine kills. Libero Casey Grasso (sr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) had 19 digs and defensive specialist Nicole Ciandella (sr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) recorded 10 digs.
 
For the Gophers, outside hitter Megan Chalk (sr. Severna Park, MD/Severna Park) had 10 kills and nine digs. Setter Sarah Johnson (so. Ridgewood, NJ/Ridgewood) tallied 21 assists and 10 digs, while middle hitter Hannah Kuehl (so. Plymouth, NH/Plymouth Reg.) recorded six kills and seven digs.
 
The first set was tied at five early on. Rowan then used a 7-1 run to take a 12-6 lead. Goucher got as close as 20-17, but he Profs then scored five straight to end the set. Rowan jumped out to a 10-4 lead to start the second set and never looked back. The Profs led by as many as eight points, before winning the set by the seven point margin. The third set was tied 10-10. Rowan then used a 4-1 spurt to take a 15-11 lead. A 7-3 run by Goucher tied the match at 18. The Profs scored seven of the final 10 points in the set to earn the victory.
 
Rowan will host Montclair State University on Thursday, October 17 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match. The match will begin at 7 p.m. and its Think Pink night. All fans are urged to wear pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
