Volleyball Wins Two Matches on Day Two at Neumann Invitational

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 ASTON, PA – Rowan University won both of its matches on October 12 at the Neumann University Invitational. The Profs defeated Ursinus College, 3-0 and Penn State Behrend, 3-1.

Rowan won with set scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-12 over Ursinus. Middle hitter Morgan Mende (so. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) had 16 kills for a .357 hitting percentage. Outside hitter Danielle Havlicek (so. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) had 11 kills and 12 digs. Setter Rebecca Dantonio (fr. Glen Mills, NJ/Garnet Valley) tallied 36 assists along with four digs and eight kills. Libero Casey Grasso (sr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) collected 20 digs and two service aces. Defensive specialist Nicole Ciandella (sr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) added 15 digs.

The Profs won by set scores of 25-16, 19-25, 25-14 and 25-23 against Penn State Behrend. Mende tallied 20 kills, while Havlicek had 12 kills and 20 digs. Outside Hitter Erica O'Hagan (fr. Cedar Grove, NJ/Cedar Grove) added 12 kills and middle hitter Elaina Hansen (sr. Monroe Twp, NJ/Monroe Twp.) ended the match with 12 kills. Dantonio collected 46 assists and 16 digs. Grasso had 24 digs and three service aces. Ciandella recorded 14 digs and defensive specialist Lauren Ruffalo (sr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) added 10 digs.

Rowan (15-8) will host Goucher College on Tuesday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
