Women's Soccer Falls At Montclair State, 3-1

Box Score MONTCLAIR, NJ – The Rowan University women's soccer team lost at Montclair State University, 3-1 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Red Hawks are undefeated with a 13-0 record and 5-0 conference mark.  This week, Montclair State was ranked second in the South Atlantic Region and ninth in the nation.  The Profs are 12-2 overall and 4-1 in the NJAC.  Rowan was fifth in the South Atlantic Region.
 
All of the scoring came in the second half.  Forward Francesca Gibson (jr. Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May Reg.) put the Red Hawks on the scoreboard at 47:54 when she knocked in a through ball from forward Martina Landeka (so. Westfield, NJ/Westfield).  Midfielder Kerry Glynn (jr. Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) hit the back of the net at 64:03 with a shot from 18 yards out for a   2-0 advantage.  Gibson won the ball in the middle and scored at 74:27 from 20 yards out. 
 
Forward Tiffany Kelly (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) spoiled the shutout at 75:19.  She headed in a pass from forward Erika Suhl (jr. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.).  Montclair State took 16 shots and Rowan had 10.  For the Profs, goalkeeper Carleigh Trivino (fr. Caldwell, NJ/Caldwell) made seven saves.  The Red Hawks' goalie Gina Policastro (jr. East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had one save.   
 
Next, Rowan plays at home against conference opponent Ramapo College on Wednesday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
