GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s soccer team had a 1-0 victory over Salisbury University in a nonconference game on Wednesday night.

The Profs improve to 2-1, while the Sea Gulls have a 3-2 record.  Salisbury is ranked eighth in the South Atlantic Region.  Midfielder Nina Fragoso (sr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) scored the game-winning goal at 49:11 in the second period.  She kicked the ball into the lower left corner of the net after a scramble in front.  It was Fragoso’s first goal of the season.

Rowan took 14 shots and Salisbury had 12.  Profs’ goalkeeper Maria Dorris (sr. Mantua, NJ/Clearview Reg.) made six saves for her second shutout.  Goalkeeper Michelle Conrad (so. Smithtown, NY/Smithtown E.) stopped three shots for the Sea Gulls.

The Profs host Stevenson University on Saturday, September 15 at 3:30 p.m.
