GLASSBORO, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team defeated Gwynedd-Mercy College, 3-0 in a nonconference match on Tuesday night.  The set scores were 25-6, 25-13 and 25-7.

The Profs improve to 5-3, while the Griffins have a 0-5 record.  Rowan was led by outside hitter Katie Havlicek (sr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) and outside hitter/middle blocker Dakota Oeskovic (jr. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) with five kills apiece.  Setter Nicole Ciandella (jr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) posted 17 assists and three service aces.  Libero Lauren Ruffalo (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected a match-high nine digs. 

Outside hitter/middle blocker Danielle Havlicek (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) compiled six digs and two aces.  Defensive specialists Casey Grasso (jr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont), Gabby Kulikowski (so. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Marissa Micciche (jr. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) all chipped in with three aces.

For Gwynedd-Mercy, middle blocker Kelsey Craig (sr. Boothwyn, PA/Chichester) had four kills and four digs.  Libero Caroline Bisch (fr. East Norriton, PA/Archbishop Carroll) contributed with seven digs.  Setter Kristen Gambone (sr. East Norriton, PA/Landsdale Catholic) tallied seven assists and six digs.

Rowan hosts Richard Stockton College in its conference opener on Thursday, September 13 at 7 p.m.
