EWING, NJ – The Rowan University women’s outdoor track and field team competed at the Lions’ Invitational on Saturday. The meet was hosted by The College of New Jersey.
Danielle Czhola (sr. Lafayette, NJ/High Point Reg.) took second place in the 5000 meters with a season best time of 18:02.35. Jenn Rawls (jr. Runnemede, NJ/Highland Reg.) captured fourth place (4:48.05) in the 1500 meters. It was her fastest time this year.
Magan Kustera (so. West Deptford, NJ/West Deptford) and Sam Kamper (so. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) came in fourth (5’1.25”, 1.56 meters) and fifth (5’1.25”, 1.56 meters) in the high jump respectively. Sarah Dores (so. Maple Shade, NJ/Holy Cross) had a fifth place in the javelin with a toss of 126’5” (38.54 meters), which was a season best. Tempeste Johnson (sr. Burlington, NJ/Burlington Twp.) was seventh in the discus with a career best distance of 122’5” (37.31 meters). Jess Lomonaco (so. Blackwood, NJ/Triton Reg.) took ninth in the hammer throw with 125’ (38.09 meters).
In the 5000 meters, Joy Hanke (jr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) finished ninth (19:02.87) followed by Deana Wood (fr. Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Reg.), 11th (19:11.31). Catherine Nolan (fr. Egg Harbor Twp., NJ/Holy Spirit) and Grace Kaler (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany Hills) were 13th (19:27.71) and 16th (20:36.38) respectively. Samantha Stapleton (so. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) came in 11th (4:55.77) in the 1500 meters. Alexus Streater (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) had a 14th place (4:59.12). Streater was 20th (2:22.52) in the 800 meters and Stapleton finished 22nd (2:25.46). Francesca Contino (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) captured 11th (1:12.73) in the 400 meter hurdles and 21st (17.30) in the 100 meter hurdles.
In the discus, Lomonaco took 13th (112’3”, 34.21 meters) and Emily Spieker (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) was 17th (109’10”, 33.49 meters). Spieker had a 14th place in the hammer throw with 114’4” (34.86 meters), while Steph Greco (jr. Monmouth Jct., NJ/South Brunswick) was 23rd (102’1”, 31.12 meters). Lomonaco placed 16th in the shot put with a toss of 34’10.5” (10.63 meters). Greco came in 26th with 31’6” (9.60 meters).
