GALLOWAY, NJ – The Rowan University men’s cross country team took second place at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday.  The 8K race was held at Richard Stockton College.

Jon Sewnig (so. Yardville, NJ/Notre Dame) came in second with a season best of 25:22.85 while Mike Carotenuto (sr. Port Monmouth, NJ/Middletown N.) and Tim Dole (fr. Mantua, NJ/Clearview Reg.) were eighth (26:01.81) and ninth (26:04.54) respectively.  Jeff Tauriello (jr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) finished 15th (26:18.21) and Ethan Wolmark (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) was 19th (26:27.32).  Dole and Tauriello each ran a season top time.   

Rob Buzby (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) took 35th (27:18.16) and Raj Singh (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parisppany Hills) was 38th (27:21.73).  Dave Quimby (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) had a 40th place (27:37.62).  Joe Hartline (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Buena Reg.) finished 49th (28:07.22) followed by Jesse Spector (so. Rockaway, NJ/Morris Hills), 50th (28:07.65).  Dan Murray (fr. Seaville, NJ/Ocean City) came in 53rd (28:23.13) and Mike Davies (so. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) was 55th (28:34.50). 

Mike Lewis (so. Glen Mills, PA/Downingtown, W.), Joe Mineo (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) and Alec Lippincott (so. Laurel Springs, NJ/Highland Reg.) were 58th (28:50.64), 59th (28:52.97) and 60th (29:00.45) respectively.  Evan Norwood (jr. Matwan, NJ/Matawan Reg.) had a 62nd place (29:11.81) and Will Alston (sr. Matawan, NJ/Matawan Reg.) was 68th (29:53.95).  Joe Rewick (fr. Wharton, NJ/Morris Hills) finished 73rd (30:33.66).     

Rowan will compete next at the NCAA Atlantic Regional on Saturday, November 10 at 11 a.m.  The regional will be held at Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, NY.
