UNION, NJ – Midfielder Nina Fragoso scored four goals for the Rowan University women’s soccer team in a 4-1 win at Kean University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) game on Saturday evening. 

Fragoso (sr. Franklinville, NJ/Delsea Reg.) tied the school record for goals in game.  She shares the mark with Jess Babice (vs. Montclair State, 2010), Michelle Carrocino (vs. Purchase, 2007) and Bridget Garrity (vs. St. Elizabeth, 1995).  This season, Fragoso has 17 points with seven goals and three assists. 

The Profs have a 12-2 record and they are 7-1 in the conference.  The Cougars are 10-4-2 overall with a 4-2-2 NJAC mark.  Kean got on the scoreboard first at 3:35 with a breakaway goal by forward Carly Seidel (sr. Winslow Twp., NJ/Winslow Twp.).  Fragoso tied the score at 25:32 with an assist from forward Erika Suhl (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Mem.).  Rowan went ahead 2-1 at 39:52 when Fragoso hit the net after a corner kick. 

In the second half, Fragoso's third goal was a blasting shot from 12 yards out and back Danielle Macey (fr. Cinnaminson, NJ/Cinnaminson) had the assist.  The final goal came on a penalty kick with 5:35 remaining in the game.

Kean edged Rowan in shots, 17-16.  Profs’ goalkeeper Maria Dorris (sr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) and Cougars’ goalie KC Nunez (fr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) each made five saves.  

Next week, Rowan plays its last regular season game at The College of New Jersey on Thursday, October 25 at 7:30 p.m.
