SEWELL, NJ – The Rowan University men’s cross country team won the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships on Saturday. The Profs finished with 18 points among nine schools and it was their third straight CTC title. The 8K course was at Gloucester County College.
Rowan runners took first through fourth place. Jon Sewnig (so. Yardville, NJ/Notre Dame) was the individual champion with a winning time of 26:57.7. Jeff Tauriello (jr. Florham Park, NJ/Hanover Park) came in second (27:10.6) followed by Ethan Wolmark (jr. Medford, NJ/Shawnee), third (27:14.4) and Tim Dole (fr. Mantua, NJ/Clearview Reg.), fourth (27:16.5). The Profs’ fifth runner to score was Rob Buzby (so. Medford, NJ/Shawnee) in eighth place (28:05.5).
Adam Ross (fr. Fair Lawn, NJ/Fair Lawn) and Raj Singh (so. Parsippany, NJ/Parsippany) were 13th (28:15.8) and 14th (28:19.3) respectively. Mike Lewis (so. Glen Mills, PADowningtown W.) had a 22nd place (28:59.5) and Joe Hartline (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Buena Reg.) was 28th (29:26.7). Dave Quimby (so. Mount Laurel, NJ/Lenape) finished 32nd (29:39.4) while Will Smith (so. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) and Mike Davies (so. Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) were 37th (30:03.8) and 38th (30:11.1) respectively. Joe Mineo (jr. Sewell, NJ/Washington Twp.) came in 45th (30:49.3) and Alec Lippincott (so. Laurel Springs, NJ/Highland Reg.) was 49 th (31:00.6).
Will Alston (sr. Matawan, NJ/Matawan Reg.) took 59th (31:56.6) followed by Dan Murray (fr. Seaville, NJ/Ocean City), 60th (31:58.3) and Joe Rewick (fr. Wharton, NJ/Morris Hills), 61st (32:00.7). Evan Norwood (jr. Matawan, NJ/Matawan Reg.) had a 63rd place (32:16.1) and Sean Ras (fr. Middletown, NJ/Middletown N.) was 64th (32:19.6). Drew Kinghorn (fr. Howell, NJ/Howell) came in 66th (32:38.7).
Next week, Rowan travels to Richard Stockton College on Saturday, October 27 for the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships. The men’s race is at 11:15 a.m. after the women at 10:30 a.m.
