MONTCLAIR, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had a 3-0 shutout over Montclair State University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night.  The set scores were 25-17, 25-20 and 25-17.

The Profs are 19-8 overall and 5-1 in the conference.  The Red Hawks have a 20-10 record with a 3-4 NJAC mark.  Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.), outside hitter Katie Havlicek (sr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) and outside hitter/middle blocker Danielle Havlicek (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) all registered 10 kills.  Binetti added five blocks, while Danielle Havlicek and Katie Havlicek had 12 and nine digs respectively.  Outside hitter/middle blocker Morgan Mende (fr. Glen Rock, NJ/Glen Rock) contributed with seven kills and four blocks.  Setter Nicole Ciandella (jr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) dished 32 assists.  Libero Lauren Ruffalo (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) collected 14 digs and defensive specialist Casey Grasso (jr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) had three service aces.

For Montclair State, outside hitters Marta Topor (jr. Bogota, NJ/Bogota) and Sara Girgus (jr. Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills) both compiled eight kills.  Middle blocker Dana Mcnish (fr. Hawthorne, NJ/Hawthorne) followed with six kills.  Setter Angela Campo (so. Washington Twp., NJ/Westwood Reg.) tallied 25 assists.  Libero Kaitlyn Irwin (jr. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) chipped in with 17 digs.
