ASTON, PA – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team went 1-1 on the final day of the Knights Fall Classic on Saturday.  The Profs defeated Ursinus College, 3-1 and lost to Franklin & Marshall College, 3-0.

Rowan has an 18-8 record.  The set scores against Ursinus (7-13) were 26-24, 25-17, 23-25 and 26-24.  Outside hitter/middle blocker Krissy Collins (jr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) posted 13 kills.  Outside hitter/middle blocker Danielle Havlicek (fr. Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) produced 11 kills and a .588 hitting percentage.  Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) added 10 kills, while outside hitter/middle blocker Elaina Hansen (jr. Monroe Twp., NJ/Monroe Twp.) had nine. 

Setter Nicole Ciandella (jr. Hoboken, NJ/Roselle Catholic) tallied 48 assists and 14 digs.  Libero Lauren Ruffalo (jr. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) compiled a team-high 22 digs.  Defensive specialist Casey Grasso (jr. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) and outside hitter Katie Havlicek (sr. Midland Park, NJ/Immaculate Heart Academy) contributed with 12 and 11 digs respectively.

The set scores versus Franklin & Marshall (14-12) were 25-18, 25-22 and 25-21.  Katie Havlicek registered 13 kills and a .522 hitting percentage.  Hansen and Mende collected seven kills apiece.  Ciandella dished 32 assists and Ruffalo had 13 digs.

Rowan travels to conference opponent Montclair State University on Tuesday, October 16 at 7 p.m.
