UNION, NJ – The Kean University women’s volleyball team defeated Rowan University, 3-0 in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night.

The Cougars improve to 8-9 overall and 3-0 in the conference. The Profs are 5-6 overall with a 1-2 NJAC mark. The set scores were 26-24, 25-12 and 25-21.

Kean was led by middle hitter Kaitlyn Hansen (so. Edison, NJ/Edison Twp.) with 13 kills and two blocks. Middle hitter Tara Richey (sr. Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) posted eight kills. Outside hitter Jennifer Espinal (fr. Elizabeth, NJ/Elizabeth) added seven kills, 14 digs and two service aces. Defensive specialist Samantha Sacco (jr. Park Ridge, NJ/Park Ridge) accumulated 17 digs and three aces. Outside hitter Katie Schuh (jr. Mt. Holly, NJ/Rancocas Valley Reg.) had 11 digs. Right side Heather Aliotta (sr. Staten Island, NY/Curtis) chipped in with four service aces. Setter Alana Aranjo (fr. Newark, NJ/Science Park) dished 26 assists.

For Rowan, outside hitter/middle blocker Krissy Collins (so. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) registered seven kills, while outside hitter/middle blocker Dakota Oeskovic (so. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) had six. Setter Kelsey Donovan (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) collected 12 assists, nine digs and two service aces. Libero Lauren Ruffalo (so. Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) contributed with a match-high 19 digs.
