WEST DEPTFORD, NJ – The Rowan University women’s volleyball team had a 3-2 victory over Montclair State University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) match on Tuesday night. The contest was held at RiverWinds Community Center.

Rowan improves to 5-1 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Montclair State has a 5-10 record with a 0-2 NJAC mark. The set scores were 25-17, 22-25, 19-25, 30-28 and 17-15.

The Profs were led by outside hitter/middle blocker Krissy Collins (so. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) with 14 kills and two service aces. Outside hitter/middle blocker Dakota Oeskovic (so. Pine Beach, NJ/Toms River S.) added 13 kills and nine digs. Outside hitter/middle blocker Sarah Hanrahan (fr. Montvale, NJ/Pascack Hills) tallied eight kills, 19 digs and three blocks. Middle blocker Nikki Binetti (so. Brick, NJ/Brick Twp.) contributed with seven kills and four blocks.

Setter Brooke Hassan (fr. Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) totaled 15 assists and 11 digs. Setter Kelsey Donovan (so. Bridgewater, NJ/Bridgewater-Raritan) followed with 14 assists and seven digs. Libero Marissa Micciche (so. Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) produced 25 digs, while defensive specialist Casey Grasso (so. Wilmington, DE/Alexis I. duPont) had 14.

For the Red Hawks, outside hitter Daniella Salemo (fr. Ramsey, NJ/Ramsey) posted a match-high 18 kills and 16 digs. Outside hitter Alyssa Batiste (jr. Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Reg.) chipped in with 10 kills, 13 digs and five service aces. Middle blocker Sara Girgus (so. Green Brook, NJ/Watchung Hills) collected nine kills and 21 digs. Setter Angela Campo (fr. Washington Twp., NJ/Westwood Reg.) dished 30 assists. Libero Kaitlyn Irwin (so. Cranford, NJ/Cranford) added 31 digs.

Rowan travels to the Spartan Invitational in York, PA on Friday-Saturday, September 23-24. On Friday, Rowan plays Moravian College at 2 p.m. and the University of Rochester at 6 p.m. The Profs face Salisbury University on Saturday at 10 a.m.
