SALISBURY, MD – The Salisbury University women’s soccer team won 3-0 over visiting Rowan University on Monday afternoon.
The Sea Gulls improve to 3-3-2 on the season while the Profs have a 2-3 record. Midfielder Amanda Miele (sr. Green Village, NJ/Chatham) led the way with two goals. Back Erin Mooney (jr. Solomons, MD/Patuxent) contributed with a goal while forward Morgan Brasch (fr. Sewell, NJ/Clearview Reg.) and midfielder Danielle Crowley (sr. Flanders, NJ/Mt. Olive) each had one assist.
Salisbury registered 14 shots while Rowan had 12. For the Sea Gulls, goalkeeper Michelle Conrad (fr. St. James, NY/Smithtown E.) made eight saves in 81:36. Goalkeeper Melissa Orgera (jr. Arnold, MD/Broadneck) played the remaining 8:24. Profs’ goalkeeper Lyndsie Bernardini (jr. Elmer, NJ/A.P. Schalick) stopped six shots.
Miele’s first goal came at 9:37 when she had a quick kick over Bernardini into the net. Brasch headed the ball to Miele in the middle. Mooney scored on a penalty kick at 31:06. With 7:08 remaining, Miele knocked in a rebound off the post after a shot by Crowley.
Rowan plays at home on Wednesday, September 21 against conference opponent Rutgers-Camden at 7 p.m.
